A Sonia Kashuk palette and other beauty necessities

I know, I know I said i wouldn't buy more stuff but I really wanted to get this Instructional Eye Shadow Palette from Sonia Kashuk in the shade eye on neutral-02. I needed more oil blotting sheets also and some face wipes.

Sonia Kashuk- Instructional Eye Shadow Palette
Shade: eye on neutral-02

Price: $19.99
I was hoping to get this palette last week when we went to the target by our house but it was completely sold out. I checked the Target website all week to see if they had re-stoked but they hadn't. At the other Target by my house it had always been stocked, so yesterday we had to do some grocery shopping and I convince my husband to go the other target. Sure enough, it was there and it was the last one. I was so relieved that I got there in time and excited. I don't have any just-matte eyeshadow palettes. I do have a lot of eyeshadow palettes but most only have one or two matte shades and the rest are all shimmery. Needless to say i think this was a necessity in my makeup collection. I like the consistency of these eye shadows. They are very pigmented and creamy, so when you put your brush in it your going to pick up a lot of product. I love that it is a neutral palette because i mostly use neutral colors and i usually never go too crazy on my eyeshadow. It was $20 but i think that for the amount of eye shadows you get it makes sense. I cant wait to create a look with this later today.

Price: $3.00

I had never tried these wipes before yesterday but I am really impressed with e.l.f. for this. It completely took off my makeup and I only had to use one wipe. I usually need three with the Kirkland brand one and the Up brand from Target. I like that these are also much bigger and they have a pleasant scent. They don't leave my skin sticky yet it does feel moisturized. In the back in says that they are infused with aloe vera extract for moisturizing and that they are great for sensitive skin. After using these wipes your suppose to rinse your face with water. Which is a little strange because with other brands you don't have to do that. Other then that, they are pretty nice and cheap. There are 20 wipes in each pack and it's just $3, that's a pretty good deal. The Pond's brand I was going to buy was $4.69 for 30 wipes. I'm probably going to keep buying these.

Price: $1.00

The last beauty item I picked up was the e.l.f. Shine Eraser Oil Blotting Sheets. I have really oily skin and ever since I got tan at the beach on Wednesday i have been producing more oil for some reason. Its so weird and disgusting. These sheets are amazing at absorbing the oil though. They contain green tea that according to the back helps re-texturize skin, masking facial imperfections. It mattifies shiny skin, it minimizes pores, and its woven texture eliminates shine and keeps skin-matte for hours. They are really great and for only $1 you get 50 little sheets.

Review L'oreal Youth Code BB Cream, L'oreal Magic LUMI Light Infusion Primer and Milani Milani Brow Fix Brow Kit

Prize: $16.99

So I have had a couple of days to try out the Youth Code BB cream by L'oreal and I gotta say I really like it. It has a lot more coverage then i expected and even though its very moisturizing its not oily or greasy like the Garnier BB cream is. My shade is medium, when I first apply it it looks lighter but after I blend it in my face it blends into my skin tone and it looks really nice. I usually just use the bb cream and I use a concealor on my trouble spots ie. my undereye circles, around my nose and on my pimples or acne marks, I use a little bit of setting powder as well. It gives you a very natural dewy look without showing your face imperfections or looking too oily. It is a great product for you on those days that you dont want to wear heavy foundation like on hot humid days or when your just lounging around the house or if you need go out to the super market or something. I would definetly recommend this bb creamn over garnier's bb cream if your having trouble deciding.

Prize: $12.95

The L'oreal Magic LUMI Primer is also a good product although its not as shimmery as I would like. I use this primer with my L'oreal bb cream and it does give a luminous glow but not enough for you to actually notice unless you really look hard. I usually just mix it together with the bb cream and apply it with my fingers all over my face. After that I just put a little bit more on my cheeks, forehead and chin for some extra glow. I think that if you want to use this just for highlighting purposes your better off with a highlighting powder or cream. If you just need a good primer then this is perfect for you.

Prize: $6.99

I love the Milani Brow Fix Brow Kit. I use the medium 02 shade and its actually really useful. It comes with a mini eyeshadow sponge, a mini brush, and a mini tweezer. This is perfect to take with you in your purse or if your traveling. It has everything you need to make sure your eyebrows stay looking defined and groomed. The powders are very pigmented, i use the dark brown shade on my dark brown eyebrows. The little brush is the perfect size to shape your brows. Overall, this is a good product and I really recommend it.

New Beauty Products

I have been dying to try the new BB creams that have just come out from Maybelline and L'oreal. Maybelline has one and L'oreal has two, one from their regular line and one from their youth code line. I have been trying to find these bb creams since i heard they were on sale but I couldn't find them anywhere by my house, not at the pharmacies or at target. Either they haven't stocked the shelves with them yet or they are sold out.

Prize: $17.79 at CVS

Today though, i finally found at least one and by accident. I went to CVS because i had a 30% off coupon. I had already looked for them where they would normally be but i didnt find them so i just got other things (will talk about those things later on). When i was on line ready to pay i saw that L'oreal had a display at the front of the store with all of their new products. The new youth code bb cream was there. They only had the fair, light and medium shades, so i got the medium shade it matches me well. What i noticed about the bb cream after rubbing some on on my arm was that it smeels exactly like the garnier bb cream. Its so strange and i wonder if they did that on purpose. It is also less greasy and oily and it has better coverage. It also has SPF 15. Its suppose to even out your skin tone, illuminate the face, perfect, moisturize and correct spots and discolorations on your face over time. Im going to be using it for awhile to see if this really works.

Prize: $12.99 at CVS

The second product I picked up was the L'oreal MAGIC LUMI light infusing primer. When it comes out of the bottle, the lotion is a shimmery white. Whne you apply i to your skin at first it looks like its a little shimmery but then it fades into kind of like a white cast on your skin. It doenst have enough "illuminating" powder for it to be noticible so I am hoping it at least works well as a primer. In the back of the bottle it says that it is suppose to enlighten you complexion because it has a light infusing primer (whatever that means...) Then it says that you cnaeither wer it under your foundation or mixed with it for a "soft light illusion". It also says you can highlight specific areas of  your face to create a sculpted affect, well we will see about that.

Prize: $7.99

The third product I got is the Milani Brow Fix brow kit in 02 brown. I saw that DulceCandy87 uses it and her eyebrows always look so nice and defined so I thought i should try it out. Its pretty nice, it comes with 2 eyebrow powders, one highlight powder, one mini tweezer, one mini sponge applicator and one mini brow brush. It really has everything you need to keep your brows nicely groomed.

Prize: $6.99

I also got some nail polish strips like the sally hansen one but much cheaper. They are by Kiss and htey have the prettiest little gems on them. I got them in the color gold and it says you cna use them on your toes too.

Prize: $10.49

The last product I got was a L'oreal Feria permanent hair dye box. I had already colored my hair dark brown with a non-permanent dye but the color was too dark on me and you could hardly tell the difference. So i decided to get a lighter shade of brown. It called deeply brown 40 natural. It says ont he box that you will get "multi-facited shimmering colour and 3X highlights, gentle, deep conditioning) We'll see how it turns out and if my husband notices because he never noticed the last one LOL!
So that is all I got for today. I am going to stop buying beauty stuff for a while now. I need to use up what i have. Even though that after buying all the L'oreal stuff I got $3 worth of extra bucks and I had a 30% off coupon so I saved $16.88 today, It all adds up in the end so I must STOP buying more stuff. On that note I say good bye. The only blogs I will be posting from now on will be on reviews and makeup looks.

Taupe and cranberry eyeshadow look with pink lips

Today i decided to use my new l'oreal eyeshadow duo in the color electrified. It has a really pretty and metallic taupe and a satin almost matte cranberry shade. This eyeshadow look is very simple. I applied mac's studio fix fluid in nc 44 and mac's mineralized skin finish natural in medium dark to set it. As a concealor and eyeshadow base I used kat von d's tattoo concealor in almond and mac's studio finish concealor in nw 25 on my under eye circles.

First i took some of the taupe shadow and applied it to 3/4 of my lid leaving my outer V free of shadow. Then i took some of the cranberry shade and applied that to my outer V and into my crease without going over the crease. I blended it well. Using a nude, beige or vanilla shade i applied it as a highlight and also put some on my tear duct. I took my physians formula felt tip liner and drew a medium width cat line across my lids. Then i took the purple shade from the Tarte limited edition 10 palette and lined my bottom lashes. Finally i applied MAC's mascara unto my top and bottom lashes making sure to apply enough coats to define and lengthen each lash.

I finished my look with NYX's cream blush in pink poppy and elf studio blush and bronzer, just the bronzer though. I applied the bronzer under the apples of my cheeks, the side of the temples, and my jaw line. I used NYX's stick blush in orchid on my lips and topped it off with elf studio lip gloss in ballet slippers.

I hope you all liked this look 💋

Review of Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse foundation, MAC's Studio Fix fluid with SPF 15 and E.L.F's Small Stipple Brush

This is going to be a review on three different products I recently discovered and started using.

Maybelline Matte Mouse Foundation I want to start with the Maybelline Matte Mousse foundation. This foundation retails for $8.99. It is in mousse form and it feels more powdery then moussey or creamy. The foundation works great for oily skin types. This has really kept me matte most of the day, its amazing. I really recommend it if you have very oily skin. If you have dry skin with dry patches I do not recommend this at all. It is very matte so the foundation will cling to your dry patches and make them more visible. The coverage is medium to full. It is very long wearing and blends very well. Apparently this foundation has been around for many years but I never had the urge to try it. I am glad I did though, it's definitely one of my favorites and my main foundation now.

MAC's Studio Fix Fluid with SPF 15 Foundation This foundation retails for $17.00 at MAC. I just got this foundation but i used it a couple of times already. I used it on Sunday to go to the beach and well it didn't do so well with the heat. My face did get oily and I even used the  MAC oil control lotion underneath the foundation that day. I used it to go to work and it was good during the day but it is not a matte foundation so you will have to blot your face through out the day. Overall it is not bad at all, i have used many bad foundations. It is long wearing and smooth and blends very nicely with a brush. I would say that the coverage is light to medium. In conclusion I do recommend this product.

E.L.F's Small Stipple Brush This brush retails for only $3.00, it is super cheap and it works great. The brush is very good for blending liquid foundation. It applies very smoothly and evenly. It does not streak either and it is small enough to get into small areas in your face like under the eyes, side of your nose, eye lids, the area between the nose and mouth. Compared to the regular size stipple brush it is amazing. This brush actually works, I truly recommend this so go buy it.

New Mac Stuff

I just got back from hanging out with my friend and after a movie we went to the mall. We ended up at MAC since she needed to get a new foundation. I know i don't need another foundation but i really wanted to try mac liquid foundations. So i ended buying the Studio Fix fluid with SPF 15 shade NC 44. It matches me skin tone pretty good. It didn't come with a pump so i bought one. I think the pump is better because that way you don't end up wasting it.

Cost: $27.00 Pump Cost: $7.00

I also picked up a small size bottle of the Oil Control Lotion. Its suppose to keep you matte, we'll see. I will be trying this out tomorrow, I'm going to the beach so the SPF in it is a good thing.

Cost: $15

They also gave me two little samples of the zoom lash mascara. I will keep you all posted if like this foundation or not.

CVS Drugstore Haul

Today after work i stopped by a CVS drugstore to see if they had the new maybelline and l'oreal BB creams, unfortunately they didn't. Since I was already there I picked up some other beauty items. The Almay products were on sale by one get the second item for 50% off, which is always a good thing.

These are all the products I got at CVS
I got the new L'oreal EverCreme sulfate-free cleansing conditioner. I already have the shampoo and conditioner from this line and it smells really good.
  • The "EverCreme" line is suppose to be used on all dry hair types and as i posted in one of my other blogs my hair is really dry. The shampoo and conditioner are very nice they leave my hair soft and really smooth. I really like them, which is why i decided to try this product. Its a shampoo and conditioner in one but its mostly a conditioner. If i like this it will save me money on buying shampoo. On the back it says that it is "an innovative gentle way to cleanse and condition in one simple step. It has ultra concentrated conditioning power for ultimate moisture and shine. It is sulfate-free so it helps preserve hairs natural moisture. The low lathering creme thoroughly cleanses while reducing friction on the hair fiber to help minimize breakage. It contains a triple action conditioning formula, with omega-3 and 6, leaving hair soft and controlled." The directions are pretty simple basically just apply to wet hair and massage into a "low" lather, leave in for a minute or two, then just rinse it out. There is no need for a conditioner.
  • I hope this conditions my hair well. I will keep you all posted if it works good for me or not.
Cost: $6.99

The next item I bought is also a new product from Physicians Formula. Its called the Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Felt-Tip Eyeliner + Serum in black...WOW that is the longest name ever! LOL
  • This eyeliner supposedly contains a "high tech formula that enhances the appearance of lashes while providing the bold and dramatic definition of a felt-tip eyeliner, in one easy step. The lash boosting complex applied at the base of lashes is most effective in improving lash appearance." It states that 100% of women saw enhanced lashes instantly, but then at the bottom in tiny font is says: based on individual perception of results by a panel of female volunteers wearing eyeliner and mascara. So who knows if it actually works. I will try it, if anything it will be a good eyeliner.
Cost: $11.49

The other product I got is the Almay Wake Up Hydrating Makeup with SPF 13 in the color beige 050.
  • When you apply this powder it gives you a cooling effect or feel but it only last about a minute or two. The powder is milled very finely and it is a sheer coverage. You can probably use this as a setting powder or alone if you want sheer coverage. I only tried it once today to blot my oil and so far I like it. I will be trying it tomorrow again though. I will keep you posted. Your suppose to apply this like any other powder foundation. It does come with a little brush that is actually not that bad.
Cost: 3.25 on sale at CVS but originally $9.74

I also got the Almay One Coat Get Up & Grow mascara in blackest black. Recently i have been on mission to find the perfect defining, volumizing and lengthening mascara.
  • So far I have tried the urban decay curling mascara, which is pretty amazing...the best so far.
  • I also tried the L'oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes in black. This mascara is ok, it is a dry formula so it tends to clump a lot. It does however make your lashes thicker and a little bit longer.
  • Another mascara i have tried is the E.L.F. Studio Lash Extending mascara in black. This is the total opposite of the L'oreal one, it is very wet. I need to apply about 7 coats to get semi-long lashes. It does contain little fibers to help lengthen the lashes but I find that in order for this to actually work I have to apply a couple of coats wait for that to dry then apply more coats wait for that to dry and apply again. As for the lenghtening affect, its not that great, it only lengthens a little not enough for a dramatic look.
  • Another mascara I have tried is the L'oreal Voluminous Mascara in blackest black. This mascara although not as dry as the L'oreal false fiber lash one, does tend to be a little dry. It does however thicken and volumize but as far as lenghtening its not as great as the fiber lash one or the urban decay one. I do recommend it though, it does the job.
  • OK so back to the Almay mascara, I decided to buy this one because Emily Noel from beauty broadcast on YouTube raves about it. She recently included it in one of her repurchased beauty products video. Its suppose to "lenghten and strengthen your lashes instantly. It has an anti-breakage pro vitamin formula that defends against damage so your lashes continue to grow long. It is clump free and is an all day wear " mascara. Its is hypoallergenic as all almay products are. It is ophthalmologist tested and its is suitable for contact lens wearers. I wear contacts so this is all good to me. I will try this out tomorrow to see how well it works and it emelynoel83is right about it.
Cost:$8.79

The last product I bought is one of the L'oreal Paris HIP Studio Secrets Professional Metallic Shadow in the color Electrified 510. The shades are a taupe gold and a satin almost matte plum color. They are both pretty pigmented when I swatched them on my hand. I think I'm going to like this a lot.

Cost: $8.99

Well that is all I got today. I hope this information was helpful. If you have any question about a certain product or need makeup and general beauty advice just post your question here. Bye bye!!

Full Face Makeup look: Nude eyes with Cat Eyeliner

Today I decided to do a Nude eye shadow look with a cat eye line, pink cheeks, bronzer and nude lips.

Here is a list of the products I used for this look:
  1. Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse foundation in natural beige (medium 2.5)
  2. Kat Von D tattoo concealer in almond
  3. NYX Above and Beyond Full Coverage concealer in glow (CJO6)
  4. Urban Decay loves NYC book of shadows shades: snatch and smog
  5. Urban Decay Naked2 palette shades: bootycall, foxy and snakebite
  6. E.L.F cream eyeliner in black
  7. Urban Decay Super Curl Curling mascara
  8. E.L.F Studio blush in twinkled pink
  9. E.L.F Studio Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder just the bronzer
  10. Sephora Glossy Gloss in rusted rose
The first thing i did was apply the Kat Von D concealer under my eyes and on my lids, this way it can also work as an eyeshadow base. Then i applied maybelline matte mousse foundation with a flat top powder brush from the e.l.f. studio line. After that i went back into my under eye circles and applied the NYX concealer. I have really bad under eye circles so i have started using two different concealers. Now my face is ready for eye shadows and powders.

  1. I took some of the eyeshadow in snatch from the urban decay book of shadows palette and applied that to most of my eyelid leaving the outer V area without eyeshadow.
  2. Then I took some of the eyeshadow in smog from the same palette with an eyeshadow brush (I use the elf one from the essentials line) and applied that to my outer V into my crease.
  3. I blend the crease out with a blending brush from elf to get rid harsh lines.
  4. Then a applied foxy from the urban decay naked2 palette as a highlight and on top of that i apply bootycall but closer to my eyebrows.
  5. I also took some of the shade booty call and applied that to the inner corner of my eyes for an eye brightening effect.
  6. I took the eyeshadow snakebite from the urban decay naked2 palette and applied that to my lower lash line with a liner brush from elf studio line.
  7. I make a cat line on both my eyes with the e.l.f cream liner in black. You can make this line thick or thin, its your preference.
  8. Finally i applied 4-6 coats of the urban decay super curl curling mascara to top and bottom lashes.

Now that the eyes are done I do my face:
  1. To contour I took the bronzer from the elf studio contouring blush and bronzing powder kit and applied it under my cheeks bones and unto the side of my face and on my jaw line. This gives the impression that your face in much thinner and has more dimension.
  2. Then i take some of the elf studio blush in twinkled pink and apply it to the apples of my cheeks blending it well with the bronzing powder. I also like to apply a little bit of bronzer and then on top blush to my chin and nose.
Finally I apply some lip gloss from sephora in rusted rose to my lips. This completes the Nude look with cat eyeliner and nude lips. Hope you girls really liked this. If you have any questions just ask.

Lush Haul

Two weekends ago we all went upstate for my brother in laws graduation. On the way back we stopped by a mall and I realized there was a lush store in that mall. I got really excited because I have been meaning to try lush products for a long time. I have heard so many things from beauty gurus on YouTube. I love that all of their products are hand made and natural, which means they don't contain any harmful chemicals or ingredients. I went in and the first thing that caught my eye was the massage bars. The massage bars all smell delicious but one in particular caught my attention. Its called the Mange Too massage bar. This bar is made out of fair trade cocoa butter, shea butter, perfume, mango butter, white chocolate, fresh bananas, honey, peppermint oil, and vanilla. This body butter glides on to you skin and melts into it with your body heat. It leaves my skin really soft and it also smells amazing!

Mange Too massage bar
The other item i saw that caught my eye was a solid body tint in the color Black Stockings. I really like this body tint because its super shimmery. You can apply to your shoulders, decolletage area, legs and arms for a beautiful glow. The body tint is made out of cocoa butter, shea butter, perfume, cinnamon leaf oil, sweet orange oil and pimento berry oil.
Black Stockings body tint
After about a week, I ordered a few more products through their website www.lush.com . I got them in the mail today, the shipping took a little over a week to get here. I think its because all of these products are made in Canada so its take extra long to ship. I got the Soft Coeur (the honeymooner) massage bar. This massage bar smells amazing and leaves my skin very soft. Its made out of cocoa butter, shea butter, honey, cocoa powder, perfume, almond oil, glycerin, sweet orange oil and bergamot oil.
Soft Coeur (the honeymooner) massage bar
I also got a colour supplement in dark yellow. You can use this as a tinted moisturizer by mixing it with your face moisturizer and applying it to your face, or you can use it alone as a foundation. I haven't tried this yet though so I am hoping it works well for me.
Dark Yellow color supplement
The last thing i got was two tins for storing the smaller massage bar and body tint. You are suppose to keep the solid massage bars and body tints in a cool dry place so that they wont melt. These little tins are perfect for that.

Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette

I finally have it! Ive been meaning to get this palette since Christmas time and for one reason or another i never got around to actually buying it. So the other day while I was looking through my sephora app on my iPhone. I saw that sephora was selling it again. I thought had lost my chance to get it since it's a limited edition palette. I quickly ordered it. To my surprise my order was processed and shipped within 2 days after i ordered it. Isn't that amazing?! With it I also got 3 little samples and a deluxe DiorShow mascara sample. I am so happy I finally got my hands on this palette. The shades are all so beautiful and very very pigmented. Many of you already know that urban decay eye shadows are probably some of the best eye shadows out there. I love how they mixed a lot of neutral shades along with very colorful ones to create this palette.

Starting from the left: Midnight Rodeo, Midnight 15, Vanilla, Flow and Chase

Starting from the left: Tainted, Junkshow, Omen, Evidence and Deep End

Starting from the left: Deeper, M.I.A., Ace, Blackout and Half Truth

I can't wait to create different eyeshadow looks with these. So stay tuned I will be posting them very soon.

MAC Haul

The other day I went to the mall with my husband and son. He said he wanted to get me some mothers day presents, so of course i was super excited. I mostly bought clothes from forever21. Then he said he was going to take Nicolas down to the play area and he left me alone to shop for whatever I wanted. I totally took advantage of this and bought some clothes and then since MAC was right in front of the forever21 store i bought some MAC makeup. I had never tried MAC makeup before except for a nail polish. So when i went in there, i had no idea what i wanted to get exactly. Then i saw the foundation powders and I saw the mineralized skinfinish powder and i thought i should definitely get this. Ive heard some great things about this powder from YouTube beauty gurus. I bought one, the lady in the store told me which shade would suit me better, it was the shade medium dark.

Shade: Medium Dark
Then i looked around for some concealers. I have really bad under eye circles and the concealers i have don't really work that great. They cover most of it but i always have to go back and apply more after. So i bought the studio finish concealer with SPF 35 in NW25. The lady showed me which shade would work better for me. They were both really nice and helpful.

Shade: NW 25
I went home with my new loot. The next day I used my foundation and concealer for the first time and they were amazing! I love the skinfinish powder because it is very sheer, it doesn't look cakey at all or like your wearing a ton of powder. It gives you a natural look instead. I also love that its made with minerals because that is better for your skin as a whole. The concealer worked very well at covering up my dark circles. I didn't even need to apply it a second time. My eyes looked fresh and there were no dark circles i sight. I love that the concealer has SPF 35, It was very surprising that it was so high since they usually just put an SPF of 15 or 20 in makeup. I'm glad though because sun damage is no joke, specially in your eye area. After trying these out for about 2 days I went back to the mall to get some summer shoes. I also went back to MAC, I couldn't help it. I got four eye shadows in a little compact. They are so beautiful. I got two bright color shades and two neutral shades. The shades are: idol eyes, lucky green, woodwinked and star violet. The lady's there (sale reps) were super nice and helpful.

Shades from bottom left to right: Idol Eyes, Star Violet, Lucky Green and Woodwinked

I used these eye shadows today to create this look:

For some reason this website wouldn't upload these pictures the way i had rotated them
To create this look I used the woodwinked shade from the MAC palette on my lid then I applied star violet at the end of the lid and unto my crease. I blended the crease out and then i took the shade virgin from the naked palette and put that as my highlight color. After that i used a brown eyeliner, lined my upper and lower lashes trying to keep the lines thin. I applied mascara. I also put some of the star violet on the lower half of the bottom lash line. Then to finish the look I just applied some bronzer under my cheekbones to contour and blush on the apples of my cheeks. I also used some of L'oreal's Color Riche balm in the shade plush plum. That was it, hope you all like this.
